The Balaton Sound Electronic Music is on again and once again features in the top ten European festivals of the year. Held 10th-13th July 2014, it promises to be another resounding hit, with some of the biggest names in electronic music playing in the well-established and much-loved lakeside location at Zamardi, Lake Balaton.

Heineken Balaton Sound started in 2007 on the shore of Lake Balaton in the town of Zamárdi. The unique atmosphere, the sunset over the lake and the top quality electronic music from chill out to house rapidly gained the festival a positive reputation. Not just the fans and visitors, but also the performers themselves are reported to love playing and hanging out here. Armin van Buuren, Snoop Dogg, the Beastie Boys, Tiesto, David Guetta, Massive Attack, Kraftwerk, Pet Shop Boys, Fatboy Slim, De La Soul have performed there among many others.
For the last three years, the Balaton Sound Festival has won an award as one of the top ten concerts in Europe, and in 2011 won the Best Middle sized-Festival in Europe award. At the 2014 awards in January, Balaton sound slipped lower down the top ten, but there were no hard feelings, as the number one slot went to another new contender from Hungary and in fact part of the same Sziget organization*
In 2014 Balaton Sound will take place between 10th and 13th of July. Early bird tickets have sold out, but standard tickets are still available and are selling fast.
