The European Commission has officially included the Hungarian Crackling scone – Tepertos pogacsa -  into the list of the „Traditional, special products ”

The product description of the Hungarian crackling scone is that it is a round pastry containing crackling crumbs, pork fat relaxed. It also contains yeast, giving it a fantastic crumbly and flaky texture. For seasoning and added flavour  salt and pepper is added to the scone  dough.


The list includes over 1200 items and products, whose name is protected, due to their special status of origins, place of manufacture, or the unique procedure that is used in the manufacturing process.
